My Approach to Therapy
Transformation is always possible when one reaches out to the world!
I currently work as a Jungian Psychotherapist integrating EMDR, Somatic Psychology and Mindfulness into my clinical work. An ongoing focus in my practice is the mind AND body, and I have been successful in treating anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and trauma. I express unconditional positive regard for all of my clients and approach therapy with genuine curiosity.
I utilize a much different approach than most therapists and have created a formula to listen in an entirely new way, leaving assumptions and agendas out the door. In using a phenomenological approach, I am a responsive, reflexive, and embodied counselor that allows for the performative aspect of the body to enter the therapeutic space.
I believe the therapy room can be a container for clients to explore their perceptions of the world around them and through this exchange, healing is made possible. When we are present with ourselves and for others creativity can blossom at its finest. This is the art form of therapy.

About Taylor Barnett
Taylor earned her Bachelors degree from Colorado State University, and while living in Fort Collins she developed a love for the outdoors. When school finished, Taylor decided to move to an island in Alaska where she taught 7th and 8th grade, and gained knowledge of how nature can assist students in their mental, physical, and emotional growth.
On the island, she voluntarily created and implemented daily outdoor workshops for kids belonging to the Tlingit and Haida Tribe. Working on the island created a powerful setting, and allowed Taylor to connect to herself and others, and laid the foundation for how she wanted to contribute to the rest of the world.
She later spent three more years living in Australia, Massachusetts, and Idaho, and immersed herself in the powerful healing opportunities that nature provides. Over those years she felt drawn to the deeply intimate, interpersonal work that occurred with adolescents, adults, and families and in 2015 Taylor enrolled at Pacifica Graduate Institute.
Her clinical background includes working at Windhorse Integrative Mental Health, Family Care Network, and the Women’s Shelter in San Luis Obispo, California. Taylor now works with couples, families, and individuals of all ages at her Private Practice In Seattle, Washington. When she's not at work, she enjoys exploring all that the PNW has to offer!
It was when I stopped searching for home within others and lifted the foundations of home within myself I found there were no roots more intimate than those between mind and body that have decided to be whole.

I welcome clients diverse in age, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity. My role as a therapist is to help the client navigate the rough waters of their own life. With my training and expertise I am competent in exploring any of these issues:

Power of connection through Ritual
The Rite of Passage Group is a 12-week teen process group that is led with mastery and skill and incorporates ritual, art, and mindfulness. This group allows teens the space to explore their true self and provides them with opportunity to finally be seen and heard like never before. Some of the topics unpacked in this group are:
Group therapy offers unique connection and support that is unlike anything else.There is an excellent balance of psychoeducation, self discovery and connection that always happens in this group setting.
Remove physical, emotional, and mental blocks
In today's day and age people often forget to breathe, and are completely unaware of what it means to breathe. Taylor's breathwork sessions consist of 90 minutes of learning the technique of breath and then practicing the breath in a one on one session.
